To make the Senior School Entrance Examination as relaxed and enjoyable as we can for external candidates, we run the St Dunstan's College Examination Preparation Scheme to help girls and boys familiarise themselves with the types of papers they will have to complete.
Topics covered include:
- A written mathematics paper
- A comprehension exercise
- A written story
- Reasoning tests
Children will also learn basic study skills and practical work is drawn from previous examinations. Model answers, revision sheets and notes are all used in discussions.
Girls and boys attending the session have found them enjoyable, challenging and helpful. The course is designed to introduce candidates to examination technique in general and is valuable preparation for any exams your child might be preparing for, although only candidates registered for the St Dunstan's College entrance examination are eligible to apply.
The scheme costs just £100 in total and places are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
The course consists of three sessions running on Saturday mornings in November and December from 9am to 12 noon as follows:
- Session 1 - Introduction + Mathematics
- Session 2 - English
- Session 3 - Reasoning papers
PLEASE NOTE: The course for candidates applying for entry in 2012 has taken place. Dates for the November/December 2012 course designed for girls and boys registered for entry in 2013 will be published in the Summer Term 2012.
