Message from the Head of the Junior School – Welcome to the Lent Term

Welcome back and a Happy New Year.

It has been lovely to see the children return from the Christmas break with so much energy and enthusiasm. They were excited to catch-up with their friends and keen to commence their new areas of study. Some of the activities I have seen around school this week are:

Nursery children making Gingerbread sandwiches

Reception children exploring space and enjoying an archaeological dig

Year 3 pupils investigating magnets as they start their new science unit of work.

This term we can look forward to a variety musical and sporting events. Musical highlights are the Year 5 & 6 Production ‘Alice The Musical’ and the College choral and musical concert at St John’s Smith Square. In sport we are competing in football, netball, hockey, swimming and cross-country and you can look forward to reading about the children’s experience and success in future newsletters.

You will have noticed from the calendar that on Monday, 13 February there will be a fashion event showcasing our new school uniform. Schoolbase (our new supplier from September 2012) will be attending and pupils will model the new uniform for Junior and Senior School.  This is an exciting time for the College and I hope that many of you will be able to attend.

As always I wish you a happy and productive term. Please do check the website for key Junior School dates and the children’s curriculum overviews for the Lent Term.
