Megan Le Maitre-George, 8G, reports:
It was a great match. The St Dunstan’s team was made up of Megan Le Maitre-George, Flora Penn, Laura Packer, Paulina Nabazaite, Bea Forrester, Emily Redlick, Juliet Tremble and Isla Newton. We got to choose, so we fielded first. Emily was pitching, Megan on second base and Laura on fourth base. Everyone else was spread out between the four posts.
In the first inning, Latymer got 2 ½ rounders, and we got 6 ½, so already in a lead of 4 rounders. We stayed in the same positions for the second inning. In the end, Latymer had 6 ½ rounders and we had 13 ½, leaving us winning by 7 rounders.
Everyone played extremely well from both sides, considering that this is our first time playing rounders since last season in 2011, and it was Latymer’s first match. Everyone ended up getting at least a rounder, with some people getting has much as 3 rounders overall. Emily Redlick was the star hitter, with 3 rounders, followed closely by Isla with 2 ½ and Laura with 2.
It was a great first match, and everyone should be proud of how they played, and we were rewarded for our great play by winning!
