At St Dunstan’s College, we are proud to be part of a vibrant and diverse community. Our roots lie in Catford and Lewisham, but our reach extends across London and beyond, through international links, local partnerships and shared projects.

Our community includes pupils and their families, alumni, local residents, and the many organisations with whom we share ideas, spaces and opportunities.

We believe that education extends far beyond the classroom. While academic learning is central, the experiences gained through partnership, service and collaboration are equally vital in shaping compassionate, confident young people. By learning from others, and giving back in meaningful ways, our pupils develop the integrity, empathy and resilience to make a positive difference in the world.

As an independent school with outstanding facilities and a committed staff body, we recognise both our privilege and our responsibility. That is why we work closely with local partners to create life-enhancing opportunities that:

  • Support social mobility and open doors for young people in Lewisham and beyond

  • Promote wellbeing and community cohesion

  • Strengthen local partnerships through sport, the arts, volunteering and outreach

  • Provide charitable and benevolent support in response to local needs and events

This work is a living expression of our ethos: Excellence. Differently. For us, excellence is not measured only by academic results, but also by the way our pupils engage with the world, through compassion, innovation, integrity and individuality.

Every year, our Community and Partnerships Brochure highlights the many strands of this work, from educational collaborations and partnerships, to charitable initiatives and connections. For us, community engagement is not an add-on: it is central to our mission, ensuring that a St Dunstan’s education prepares young people not just to succeed for themselves, but to make a lasting and positive impact on the world around them.
