BREADCRUMB

16+ entry

Every year we welcome new students into our Sixth Form from both independent and state schools in the UK and from overseas. There are a number of additional financially assisted places available for entry to our Sixth Form.

The assessment process for entry into Year 12 consists of an online adaptive assessment assessing applicant’s logical thinking and problem-solving skills, additionally applicants will write an essay-style answer on a subject of general intellectual interest.  This will provide us with a standardised score which will help make an informative decision as to whether an applicant should progress to the second stage.

If invited to a second round, applicants will be interviewed by teachers in two of their intended A Level subjects and asked problem-solving questions relevant to each subject.

All offers are conditional on GCSE results. Entry requirements for the Sixth Form are currently set at an average of grade 6 or above across all the subjects studied at GCSE with 9-7 (A*/A equivalent) grades in the subjects appropriate to the student’s choice of A Levels.

Please note that the 16+ registration fee is £50.

Families of pupils in receipt of pupil premium funding can request the registration fee to be waived by contacting the admissions office directly.
