Last Thursday our Languages Department hosted an inspiring ‘Careers in Languages’ evening attended by hundreds of secondary school students from across South East London.

Featuring a number of expert speakers, including from the Foreign Office, UN and Médecins Sans Frontières, and representatives from top UK universities, including King's College London and the University of Bath, the event was a chance for students to explore the wide range of opportunities that studying languages can offer for their future.

There were also a number of taster sessions for students to get involved in, ranging from Ancient Greek to Italian and even Forensic Linguistics, giving students the opportunity to widen their linguistic horizons. 

The event was a huge success, and has helped to inspire the next generation of South London linguists.
