Congratulations to Year 3 pupil Iona who was recently crowned a winner of the 2026 ISEB ‘Time to Write’ Competition!

Almost 3,000 young writers took part, each inspired by the theme ‘thread’, telling stories of connection, imagination and discovery. Iona's story 'The Girls' won the Years 3 & 4 category and was illustrated by an illustrator from Arts University Bournemouth before being published.

Her story is about two girls born at the same time to different parents, whose lives are bound together by an unbreakable golden thread. When a mysterious note containing a set of cryptic instructions appears, the girls must put aside their differences and come together to solve the puzzle and find a resolution.

Iona received her printed book at school last Friday, and was amazed by the beautiful illustrations, bringing her incredible story to life.
