Junior School pupils in 6G went silent on Wednesday 1 May to raise money for charity.

During the day, the pupils stayed absolutely quiet throughout the school day including during their lessons and lunchtime.

The day raised an incredible £643.20 for St Christopher’s Hospice, which is located in Sydenham and provides palliative care.

Speaking about the silent sponsorship, 6G pupil Lexi said: ‘Staying silent for the whole day may seem difficult but when you and your friends get into it, it becomes a kind of competition. We all wanted to raise as money as we could for such a worthy cause.

Finn, also in 6G, added: ‘I found staying silent all day a bit tricky, but managed to succeed.’
