St Dunstan’s’ forward thinking, liberal and ambitious approach to education begins in our Nursery, where our bespoke curriculum is driven by children’s interests. It is also where we embed key learning behaviours, to build the foundations of successful learning through an approach of awe and wonder.
“Our Nursery experience ensures that our pupils are fully prepared for the transition into our ambitious Reception environment."
Mrs Emily Rogers, HEAD OF PRE-PREP
We truly understand that in Nursery, our youngest pupils are learning to learn; we inspire them to be imaginative and playful, to problem solve and think critically and our learning environments create a culture of independence, resilience, resourcefulness, determination and pride.
Pupils leave Nursery with a wide range of interests and the confidence to try new things; embracing challenge to reach their potential and thrive academically and personally as they move to the next stage of their St Dunstan’s journey.
Our curriculum is a child-centred inspirational learning process, offering a breadth of experiences and opportunities for our pupils to develop their confidence in hands-on memorable moments. They enjoy taking risks, challenging themselves in new ways, exploring and embarking upon structured play within a beautiful natural setting.
Our Woodland Classroom sessions see our pupils develop their independence, confidence, resilience, and co-operative play through projects such as creating shelters and going on minibeast hunts.
