At St Dunstan’s Senior School, we don’t just teach students how to use AI, we teach them to question it, improve it, and use it to make a difference.
Our students become confident, ethical, and adaptable thinkers, ready to lead in a changing world.

AI for Learning, AI for Life
Innovate with Integrity, flourish as individuals
Innovation at St Dunstan’s is purposeful and human-centred. We prepare young people to thrive in a world shaped by technology - with intelligence, curiosity, and integrity. Our approach is built around:
- AI for Learning: Using AI to enhance studying, revision, creativity and critical thinking.
- AI for Life: Understanding the ethical, social, and environmental implications of AI to become thoughtful, values-led citizens.
A Curriculum for the Future
Through the acclaimed Stuart curriculum, AI and digital education are embedded from Year 7 to Sixth Form in a spiral model, revisiting key themes with increasing depth and relevance each year.
Years 7-8: Foundations of Critical Digital Literacy
Students begin by questioning AI-generated content, building digital discernment, and learning how technology can enhance their learning across subjects.
Year 9: Entering the World of Large Language Models
Students are introduced to LLMs, learning how to craft purposeful prompts to generate meaningful dialogue with AI. They explore privacy, data ethics, and compare platforms like ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot.
Years 10-11: Using AI to Deepen and Personalise Learning
At GCSE, students use AI to stretch and challenge themselves, for example:
- Asking an AI to act like a subject examiner to test their knowledge.
- Using adaptive learning platforms tailored for specific subjects to consolidate skills efficiently.
- Exploring how AI and emerging technologies are transforming their chosen subjects in the wider world.
Sixth Form: Preparing for University, Work, and Life
In the Sixth Form, students gain advanced digital fluency, learning how AI is used in industry, research, and society. They develop resilience and adaptability, knowing when to use AI tools and when to rely on human skills - ensuring they are ready to lead with purpose.
Tailored Digital Tools
At St Dunstan’s, each department selects the best software, apps, and online platforms to enrich learning: Maths uses adaptive platforms such as Dr Frost and MEI Integral to personalise practice and challenge. Science integrates tools like Cognito and Sparx Science for efficient recall and revision. English uses digital tools such as Seneca and Bedrock Learning to support writing, analysis, and creative development.
Students learn how, when, and why to use these tools, becoming confident, critical users able to transfer their skills beyond school.
Ethics and Integrity at the Core
Throughout their journey, students explore:
-
The ethics of AI: bias, fairness, transparency.
-
Data privacy and the environmental impact of digital systems.
-
The importance of human judgment, creativity and compassion in an AI-driven world.
Technology That Serves Learning
Our digital infrastructure includes laptops across the school site, numerous computer rooms, and department-owned devices. Technology is used seamlessly in lessons where it truly enhances learning, ensuring it remains a powerful, purposeful tool.
