Creative expression runs through the very heart of St Dunstan’s Senior School, and nowhere is this more evident than in our thriving Drama and Dance programme.
Both within the curriculum and through our extensive co-curricular offer, students are challenged to explore the world they are growing up in - developing creativity, confidence, and collaboration along the way.
Drama at St Dunstan’s goes far beyond performance. Whether in the studio, on stage, backstage, or in the workshop, students are encouraged to discover every aspect of theatre and the vital role it plays in culture and society.

Our facilities provide the perfect setting for this exploration, including two black box rehearsal spaces, a fully equipped black box studio, two dedicated LAMDA teaching rooms, and a 150-seat theatre.
These spaces ensure that every student - performer, designer, technician, dancer, or director - has the chance to explore the limitless possibilities of theatre.

For those with a passion for academic study, we offer Drama and Theatre Studies at both GCSE and A Level, where students consistently achieve outstanding results. Lessons combine rigorous analysis with practical creativity, encouraging students to think critically about performance while developing their own voice as theatre makers.
Beyond the classroom, students immerse themselves in a vibrant programme of College productions that span everything from musical theatre and naturalism to dance and physical theatre. These productions are ambitious, inclusive, and of exceptional quality — with St Dunstan’s receiving national recognition through nominations at the National School Theatre Awards.

Alongside these, students can develop their skills further through specialist clubs in areas such as technical theatre, dance, and scriptwriting, as well as lessons covering the full range of LAMDA syllabi. Regular workshops with industry professionals and theatre visits across London and beyond provide further inspiration, drawing on the cultural wealth of our location.
At St Dunstan’s, we believe in the transformative power of ensemble performance. Students are encouraged to create their own original work rather than simply reproducing the work of others, building the courage, resilience, and teamwork that ensemble demands. This ethos ensures that every individual feels part of something bigger than themselves, taking pride in their contribution and celebrating shared achievement. With so much on offer, the only real challenge our young thespians face is finding the time to fit it all in.
