Beyond exams; towards a future worth having. At St Dunstan’s, Futures is not an add-on; it is a culture. The world you are stepping into is evolving faster than ever. New technologies, industries and opportunities are reshaping life and work in ways that are exciting, unpredictable and full of possibility; many of the jobs that you will do in ten years’ time do not even exist today.

We see this not as a challenge, but as an opportunity. Our Futures Programme
prepares you to succeed beyond school, equipping you with the skills, confidence and ambition to thrive in a world defi ned by change. From Oxbridge to conservatoires, from apprenticeships to global universities, Futures equips you with the tools to succeed, and the courage to imagine bold possibilities.

At its heart, the Futures Programme helps you imagine and shape a future worth having: one that is bold, personal and full of opportunity.

At St Dunstan’s, we know that thriving in the 21st century is about more than just knowledge.

Our Futures Programme is underpinned by a bespoke ‘Futures Skills Framework’, shaped by leading global research and carefully designed to build the skills that will matter most.
Throughout your time at St Dunstan’s, you will be constantly supported and challenged to develop the eight key skills which the World Economic Forum indicates are essential for thriving in a changing world.

Programme Structure

The Futures Programme is built upon two core strands, which you encounter almost every day:

FUTURESLAB

From your first term, you will be part of FuturesLab, our experiential, skills-first strand of the programme. Like any lab,
it is a place for experimentation, for trying things out, failing safely and making exciting discoveries about yourself
and the world. Will you plan a sustainable city, design a lunar space elevator or delve into the history of London’s industrial past?

LAUNCHPAD

As you progress, LaunchPad helps you navigate next steps, offering clear guidance on university, apprenticeships,
conservatoires and specialist routes.
This begins with visits, assemblies and themed events, building towards personalised mentoring and Sixth Form preparation, and our flagship Futures Convention.

‘There is a thoughtful approach to preparing pupils for their futures, ensuring that they are provided with a range of opportunities to help them become informed of the decisions that
need to be made at transition periods of their education.’
Independent Schools Inspectorate, April 2024

The Futures Journey

The Futures programme is a coherent journey woven into every stage of your school life. Each stage connects to the next, so that by the time you leave us, you can look back on a pathway that has built confidence, sharpened ambition, and prepared you for life after school.
